I love fall TV and this season's new shows seem to be the best in a several years. The last new show I started watching was How I Met Your Mother and Bones and those were 5 years ago. This year there are ten new shows that I've set my DVR for. So in order of the scheduled nights, here are the shows I am watching this year, along with my regulars Bones, How I Met Your Mother, and Medium.
Accidentally on Purpose, starring Jenna Elfman. I loved her in Dharma and Greg and she is just as kooky in this show as she was then. In the pilot, Billie dumps her longtime boyfriend because he won't marry her and then a month later has a one night stand with a younger guy and subsequently gets pregnant. It's filled with hilarity and of course, hot guys. ;)
Trauma- This show didn't quite grab me, but I will keep it on my DVR. It's about the other side of the emergency team, the EMTs and the flight technicians who go to the scene. The show started off with a bang, literally, two helicopters blew up when one of them wasn't watching where they were going. The acting seems stiff and honestly it seemed they were making some medical mistakes. I don't think it will last for very long.
NCIS: Los Angeles- The reason I was interested in watching this show in the first place was because Chris O'Donnell was starring in it and he did not disappoint. Honestly, I'm hooked by almost any crime show and occasionally you get to see a man in uniform so it works out good. LL Cool J is also very good in this show and not so bad to look at either. LA is a bit more high-tec then the crew in Washington and honestly, Gibbs, Abby, Tony, Ziva and McGee should be jealous of all their cool tools. I will definitely be tuning in for this one every week and I hope it sticks around.
The Forgotten- This show seems a little like a knock off of Cold Case, only with volunteers instead of cops. The Forgotten network gets assigned Jane or John Doe's after the police can no longer work the case and before the body is buried in an unmarked grave. It's semi-interesting but not one of my top picks for the season.
The Good Wife- This show is amazing, I loved Julianna Marguiles in ER and I was so excited that she was coming back to TV. She stars as a politicians wife who goes back to work after 15 years when her husband was arrested and disgraced after his sleeping with many hookers came out. I love how original she is while working on her cases and her sense of realism is great. I will keep on tuning into this one.
Mercy- This is another medical show and I am not very thrilled about it so far. I've always liked Michelle Trachtenberg and that's part of the reason why I tuned in in the first place. But the other characters really get on my nerves. The way they make fun of Chloe's scrubs is just mean and honestly I have some of the scrubs she wears, there's nothing wrong with happy scrub tops. Also, the way Veronica is torn between her husband and the guy she had a fling with in Iraq is just so cliche and if she ends up sleeping with the cute doctor she met in Iraq while still married, I will stop watching. I hate affairs on tv, they are not entertaining at all.
Eastwick- I love this show so far, it's been said that it is Sex and the City with witches and I think that is partly true. Two of the women have kids and two are single. They've just discovered that they have mysterious powers and a new mysterious man has moved to town and bought a mansion that has been vacant for years. This show is wrapped in mystery and I can't wait to find out all the answers.
FlashForward- This may be the best show of the new season, one day every person on earth blacks out for two minutes and seventeen seconds and sees their future in exactly six months at 10:00 P.M. Of course, because many people were on a plane or in the car at the moment of their blackout, a lot of people have died from this so the world is in an uproar over this. And of course there is at least one person that the FBI team has determined was awake at the time of the blackouts and they are now working on finding him. The whole thing is shrouded in mystery and I'm sure it will start to unravel a little bit at a time throughout the season.
That's all the fall shows I am watching and I am excited about the season.
