Wicked!!!

I went to see Wicked for the first time on Saturday with mom and let me say, I loved it! I have never been a big fan of the movie The Wizard of Oz and I never even read the book, but this was amazing and so much better than a whole movie about Dorothy. The songs are amazing and I have been playing the CD that I bought at the show in my car since Sunday morning. If I could I would go see it again before it leaves Wichita.

I was also lucky enough to get to see the original Elphaba from the Broadway show in New York, which several of my friends found really great. The humor mixed in with the music was so funny and I couldn't help but want to buy to whole store there. (I didn't, I simply bought a CD and a souvenir tote bag.) I am not generally a fan of musicals, there have only been a few that I've seen live. One of them being Momma Mia! and the other was Les Miserables, which was OK but over all a very depressing story line. Wicked was not depressing at all. I loved how the musical came up with the origins for the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man and the Scarecrow.

If Wicked ever comes to a city near you, you really need to see it, it is well worth the price of the ticket.
