My new kitty!!

Last week when I was looking at ads online I saw a post for free adult cats at the Kansas Humane Society and after looking at their available cats I picked a few I wanted to see and told my mom that I was getting one. So I went to their new facility, which is incredibly nice. They have little visiting rooms you go into and the workers bring the animal you want to see into you and when the animals are not visiting the cats have suites or condos to hang out with other cats and the dogs have their own little rooms.

So the woman brought in 3 cats for me to see Erica, Speckles and Sapphire. Sapphire was my absolute first choice and I saw her last. After just a few minutes with Sapphire I was convinced she was the cat I wanted. (I was so ha
ppy, another lady walked in before me wanting to see Sapphire and I was so afraid she would take her, but she left without Sapphire so I could snatch her up :)) Sapphire shall hence be known as Stella and she is the most beautiful cat. She is so playful and loves to follow me around, this morning I had the hardest time getting ready for church because she was rubbing against my legs and then got up on the bathroom counter and wanted to rub against my stomach while I was trying to put on my makeup. She is getting used to Godiva but my mom brought her cat Sophie up for a few days and Sophie was so mean to Stella. After my mom and Sophie left it was like Stella was a different cat.

On a sadder note, on Saturday afternoon I saw my older cat Tigger in the middle of a busy road here on the way work and she was most definitely dead :(. Tigger was a wonderful cat, she didn't like any other animals but she loved people and would curl up in your lap for hours if you let her. And she purred the loudest purr I have ever heard. I will miss her terribly but having Stella has helped soften
the blow of losing Tigger. I was really mad at whoever hit her because she didn't deserve that.

Awww... Stella is so cute! I had heard that you got a new kitty but I didn't know it was because Tigger had died. :-( I'm so sorry. It's always hard losing a pet, but even worse when it's something sudden and traumatic. But I'm glad Stella has been a good companion for you! I hope everything else is going well for you!
